SUMMER ROCK CAMPS
GRNC’s Rock Camp for Girls is a one week music program for Triangle area girls ages 7-16. Girls are instructed in an instrument of their choice, form bands, and write original music with their peers. Between band practices, campers attend workshops such as songwriting, self defense, DIY, zine making, deejaying, body confidence, and more! Throughout the week, girls are mentored in an empowering all-female environment by seasoned musicians, educators, and activists. The week concludes with a huge concert showcasing the original music of each of the bands at a local venue.
No musical background or instruments necessary to participate in GRNC Rock Camp for Girls! We offer full and partial scholarships for qualifying campers! Have a question about summer camp? AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
GRNC's After School is a 10-week music and empowerment program for girls available in two sessions throughout the academic year: Winter/Spring (Jan-Mar) and Fall (Sep-Nov). The program takes place one afternoon per week and is a more intimate version of our Summer Rock Camp. Girls form bands, learn to play instruments of their choice, and write original music with their peers and mentors.
After school attendees have the opportunity to attend workshops to strengthen their confidence, creative expression, and collaboration. Designed as more of a mentoring and songwriting program, campers will focus on writing songs together and discussing aspects of creative process (lyrics, melody, structure, subject matter, etc). there will be workshops exploring in-depth topics like recording, image and brand development/promotion, and merchandise.
No musical background or instruments necessary to participate in GRNC After School! We offer full and partial scholarships to qualifying participants!
The Durham camp is held at the Hayti Heritage Center on Wednesdays, 3:45-5:45pm.
The Chapel Hill camp is held at The Arts Center on Tuesdays, 3:45-5:45pm.

WOMEN'S ROCK RETREAT WEEKEND
We believe nothing should limit a person from creative expression, and that includes age! Women’s Rock Retreat Weekend offers adult women the opportunity to attend a rock camp of their own. Modeled after our Rock Camp for Girls, this is a great opportunity for camper moms, women who want to learn to play an instrument, or anyone who just wants to get away for a weekend in a safe, supportive, empowering all-female environment.
Attendees spend the weekend at a remote retreat center in Mebane, NC (meaning we can be as loud as we want!), learn an instrument of their choice, form bands with other women, and write an original song or two. Attendees also participate in discussion groups and workshops on the subjects of songwriting, body confidence, and more. Food, lodging, instruments and gear are included in the retreat. The weekend concludes with a live performance of the original music at a local venue! Ladies, this is your opportunity to get out there and shine like you know you can! No musical background or instruments necessary to participate in this retreat!
